The proposal at Blue House Farm is for six new 3 and 4 bed homes on the site of a Grade II listed house in Northumberland, proposing a sympathetic and complimentary development standing alongside the listed structure to form a new cluster of high quality family homes.
The client had spent several years unsuccessfully trying for planning permission with other architects before appointing EDable Architecture.
Our design is based on a thorough contextual analysis and understanding of typical Northumberland farmstead typologies and patterns of outbuildings, sheds, and ancillary buildings. The resultant scheme maintains a farmstead vernacular in terms of massing, materials, and form, complimented with modern materials, proportions, and motifs.
